متن کاملPosition-related Brachial Plexopathy after Thoracoscopic Sympathectomy: A Case Report
A 26-year-old man suffered from hyperhidrosis palmaris since childhood. He had received bilateral transaxillary thoracoscopic T3 sympathectomy immediately after the operation weakness in right biceps, brachialradialis, deltoid, supraspinatus, and infraspinatus muscles and parathesia in right C5-6 dermatomes were noted. Serial neurological studies indicated a right brachial plexopathy. We placed...

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Continuous intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM) of transcranial electric motor evoked potentials (tceMEPs) and somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) has gained universal acceptance as an efficacious method for detecting emerging positional brachial plexopathy or peripheral nerve compression during spinal and shoulder surgery. This has implications for transaxillary thyr...
متن کاملRadiation-induced brachial plexopathy: MR and clinical findings.
A 54-year-old man had a slowly progressive bilateral brachial plexopathy 17 months after surgery and radiation therapy for a stage IV supraglottic carcinoma. MR imaging at presentation showed a symmetric pattern of parascalene and interscalene hyperintense signal on T2-weighted images and after contrast enhancement. Although hyperintense signal has been more often associated with recurrent tumo...
